In autumn 2 Year 5 have been learning about Earth and Space. This topic has been linked to English through our text, maths with distances and the curriculum with all the things we have made. The children have asked and researched some wild and wonderful questions- ‘Why is the moon sometimes red? What keeps the planets up in space? ‘
During this topic, the children have learnt the order and facts about the planets, made mobiles, written diary extracts and used toilet paper to work out the relative distances of the planets from the sun! Yes! Toilet paper! They have looked at and named phases of the moon, made space rovers and even learnt a rap song!
