Attendance is a high priority at Carlton Mills. Every child needs to come to school every day to make sure they don’t miss out on their one chance at primary education.

Punctuality
The school places high importance on punctuality. The school day starts at 8:25a.m. and gates open at 8:25a.m. and remain open until 8:40a.m. Children will receive a late mark from 9:00a.m. and will need to come through the office to sign in on the Inventory screen and take their pass to their class teacher. School finishes at 3:15p.m. Monday – Thursday and 1:35p.m. on a Friday.
Reporting Absences
If your child is unwell, please contact the school office before 9:15a.m. with a reason for the absence.
Holidays
We actively encourage parents not to take children out of school during term time. Our attendance target is 96% or more and to improve pupil attendance, holidays during term time will not be authorised unless there are extremely exceptional circumstances. If you require to take your children out of school during term time, please book an appointment to see Mrs McDonald for a Leave Request Appointment.
